Natalie Norman is already gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day at the business she owns with her husband, Jeff.

The couple opened Norman’s Niche nearly two years ago at 219 S. Sandusky Ave., in Bucyrus, and offer an array of wines and craft beers.

“I love our customers. They have become like family to us,” said Natalie as she pointed out the St. Patty’s décor she has already placed throughout the store.

Natalie said she has added two more shelves of craft beers and three more shelves for wine since opening the store.

“We listen to what our customers want and try to accommodate everyone. If we don’t have it, we will try to order it. We have to order through distributors in Ohio,” Natalie said.

Natalie said Jeff still works full-time while she operates the business with a little help from friends and family.

“At this point, we do not have any paid employees but my daughter helps out during our busiest times as well as a few of our friends. We are so grateful,” Natalie said.

The busiest times for the business are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The business is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

“We are closed on Sundays and Mondays,” said Natalie of the store that offers a variety of wine-related accessories such as corkscrews, T-Shirts and wine bags along with jams, different types of coffees and scented candles.

For the past year and a half, Norman’s Niche has hosted Watercolors and Wine for local artist Sandy Laipply.

“The event is a lot of fun and brings in a lot of people,” said Natalie.

Natalie said she has also added live musical entertainment.

“On March 19, Kelly Vaughn from Columbus will be here to play for our customers. She has quite a following and is so talented,” Natalie said.

Natalie said that C.B. and L.A. Brown of Thee Rough Country Band will be performing on April 16 while local musician Al Frazier will entertain on April 2.

Natalie said she offers wine tastings daily but also offers scheduled wine tastings that are held by the store’s wine distributor.

“We are holding our first beer tasting on March 28 and are really excited about that,” Natalie said of the event that will feature several different flavors of craft beers.
