Local band Reckless Abandonment will rock the stage at Dillinger’s on Saturday night as they celebrate the release of their latest CD, “Amusement Park,” during a CD release party.

The band is fronted by the powerful vocals of lead singer Zoie Lee, who also plays acoustic and electric guitars occasionally as well as the keyboard. Mary Hough is on lead guitar and vocals, Larry Spradlin is on bass and vocals and Darren Borror is on drums, percussions and vocals.

“Each member of the band has been playing professionally for over 30 years,” said Borror.

The band formed in 2012 with the current line up being created in early 2015 by Spradlin.

“We added our current drummer in mid-2015. Larry and Mary, separately, have each played music with Zoie in projects off and on for over 20 years,” Borror said.

Borror said there is a story behind the name of the band.

“Well, the word Reckless came from people telling our lead singer she was reckless on stage. She’d run around and jump on equipment, bars, tables or climb whatever she could find. She might, on occasion, still do this,” Borror said. “The second part of the band’s name, Abandonment, came from bands of the past that came and went, members who would come and go, always leaving you feel abandoned. So, Reckless Abandonment we became.”

Borror said the band’s goals for the future are to continue to write music and record.

“And to keep playing as long as God gives us the talent to do just that,” Borror said.

Reckless Abandonment plays everything from 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s music to today’s top hits, along with their original songs.

“The music we play is anything that is real. We will play to any crowd, any genre, that will, for 30 seconds to three minutes, just for that moment, take your focus off whatever in life has been beating you up.”

The band has released two previous CD’s including, “Reckless Abandonment Live,” sand “Everything Changes.”

The band’s CD Release Party for “Amusement Park,” will kick off at 9 p.m. Saturday with the doors of Dillinger’s opening at 8:30 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge at the door. Dillinger’s is located at 144 Washington Square in Bucyrus.

The band Reckless Abandonment will celebrate the release of their third CD, “Amusement Park,” at 9 p.m. at Dillinger’s in Bucyrus.
