Bucyrus police reports – Feb. 1

Jan. 29

8:02am A Semi Truck driver was cited for use of local streets in the area of Rogers and Charlotte Streets. The driver was directed to General Electric.

8:04am Officers checked on a disabled semi-truck in the 1600 block of Marion Road. The truck driver had mechanical help on the way.

8:40am Life Support requested assistance on Cullen Court with gaining entry to a residence. Life Support was able to gain entrance and officers were not needed.

10:12am A false alarm was received from the area of the fairgrounds.

10:35am A Whetstone Street resident reported a child’s ATV stolen from the 800 block of Clay Street sometime since Dec. 24.

12:45pm A welfare check was requested in the 1200 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

12:49pm A disturbance in the 300 block of East Rensselaer Street was investigated and a welfare check made of the residents.

1:18pm A report of two people trespassing in the 100 block of West Mansfield Street was investigated. The subjects left the area voluntarily.

1:50pm A report was made of a grave marker vandalized and a granite angel being stolen from Oakwood Cemetery.

3:31pm Offices checked a report of a possible fight at Harmon Park and it was found to be a group playing a game of hackey sack.

4:12pm Officers assisted Life Support Ambulance personnel in the Bucyrus Plaza area.

4:31pm A false alarm was investigated in the 200 block of Whetstone Street.

5:53pm Officers investigated the report of a shed being broken into on Tiffin Street. It was found to be a relative of the homeowner.

6:08pm Officers assisted a motorist locked out of their vehicle in the 200 block of Songer Avenue.

6:08pm Four income tax summons were served at the Police Department.

6:56pm Officers assisted a motorist locked out of their vehicle on High Street.

7:58pm Officers investigated a shoplifting report at Ehrhart’s Party Store.

8:51pm A welfare check was made for a resident on Gay Street.

9:11pm Officers attempted to serve a warrant.

11:16pm A false alarm at Sears was investigated.

11:21pm Officers attempted to serve a warrant on Whetstone Street.

Jan. 30

12:08am Traffic stop on Whetstone Street near Woodlawn Avenue. Three income tax summons were served to vehicle passengers.

12:56am A resident in the 1700 block of Marion Road reported her truck vandalized.

1:16am Officers assisted a deputy on a traffic stop in the area of Rogers and Center Streets.

1:32am Officers checked an open door and alarm in the 100 block of East Irving Street. The building was secured.

1:54am Officers responded to an alarm on Hill Street.

2:03am Officer on patrol checked on a disorderly group on Washington Square. Joseph Lawhun, 28, was arrested on a Crawford County warrant. He was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court.

2:03am One income tax summons was served in the area of Washington Square.

2:35am Officer checked on a subject passed out at the wheel of vehicle on Crossroads Blvd. Jonathan Shepherd, 38, was arrested on charges of OVI physical control. He was issued a citation and released to a sober family member.

2:55am An employee at the Horseshoe reported a disorderly customer causing problems in the bar. The subject voluntarily left the area.

5:30am Officers attempted to make contact with a resident in the 700 block of Hopley Avenue for the Galion Police Department.

5:40am A resident in the 100 block of West Liberty reported a possible prowler at the residence. No one was located in the area.

9:29am A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Stetzer Road.

9:49am A report of a breaking & entering was investigated on Wingert Street.

10:07am A Whetstone Street resident reported medication missing.

10:18am A traffic citation was issued on Beal Avenue.

12:20pm Officers assisted a motorist locked out of their vehicle at Bob Evans.

2:00pm A hit-skip collision in the parking lot of Hardees was investigated.

2:10pm Officers investigated a report of a person dumping tires on private property on Isaac Beal Road.

2:45pm A civil standby was requested on Elm Street.

3:05pm A false alarm was investigated at Pigman, Brown and Company.

3:10pm Officers investigated a report of a mattress being dumped in the 1300 block of East Mansfield Street.

3:25pm One income tax summons was served at the police department.

4:06pm Officers assisted Crawford County Sheriff’s Department to deliver a message on Prospect Street.

4:23pm A Warren Street resident report a civil dispute over possession of a phone.

5:31pm Officers checked the report of a fight in the area of Warren and Sandusky Avenue. The involved parties were located on North Poplar Street and no claims of assault were made.

5:48pm Officers investigated the report of possible vandalism in the 200 block of East Mansfield Street.

5:54pm A report of an open door on a shed was investigated on Rensselaer Street.

5:59pm A possible sighting of a missing juvenile was investigated. The child was not located.

6:19pm A report of kids throwing rocks on Rogers Street was checked and the officer spoke with the children and a parent.

6:29pm A domestic dispute was investigated on Wayne Avenue.

7:19pm A traffic warning was issued in the 500 block of West Mansfield Street.

8:21pm A report of a suspicious person was investigated in the 200 block of West Mansfield Street. No one was located.

8:28pm Missing juvenile, Dakota Matthews, was located and returned to his parent.

9:23pm A traffic warning was issued on Hopley Avenue.

10:03pm A report of a possible intoxicated driver was investigated on South Sandusky Avenue.

11:25pm A report of a suspicious person was investigated on Faustina Avenue.

11:45pm A person was warned for loud music on Earl Street.

11:45pm A traffic warning was issued on Broadway Alley and Mary St.

11:59pm Officers found reported suspicious persons in the 500 block of N. Sandusky Av. were having a conversation.

Jan. 31

12:00am A traffic warning was issued in the area of Marion and Mader.

12:26am A motorist was cited for a traffic violation in the area of Broadway Alley.

12:31am Officers assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in the area of Ohio 19.

12:42am A motorist was given a warning in the area of Sandusky and Gaius Streets.

12:43am A disturbance in the 600 block of East Rensselaer Street was a verbal dispute over car keys.

1:24am Traffic stop was made in the 400 block of North Sandusky Avenue. One summons was served and Tyler Eber, 24 was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and Jared Deskins, 21, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in the 400 block of North Sandusky Avenue. They were both issued minor misdemeanor citations and released.

1:28am Officers investigated a report of a possible impaired driver in the 1800 block of East Mansfield Street. The driver was not located.

1:42am Officers assisted subjects in locating their vehicle in City Lot #3.

1:44am An open line 911 call was received from the Heritage Circle area. It was determined that a child was playing with the phone.

1:48am A domestic problem in the 600 block of East Mansfield Street was resolved, neither party claiming any assault or threats.

1:50am Officers were called to a reported fight in City Lot #3. Subjects dispersed from the area.

2:29am Multiple 911 hang up calls were received from the 300 block of E. Charles St. It was determined that a child was playing with the phone.

9:41am Officers assisted with a vehicle lockout in the 1600 block of East Mansfield Street.

10:10am A false alarm was received from the 800 block of South Poplar Street.

10:18am A Hopley Avenue resident reported children taking pop from his garage. The children and their parents were spoken to.

1:07pm Officer assisted with Bucyrus Fire Department in the 500 block of South East Street.

11:01am A welfare check was requested for a subject in the 1500 block of North Sandusky Avenue. The subject was gone upon officer’s arrival.

11:28am Officers assisted with a vehicle lockout at Sandusky and River Streets.

3:33pm A domestic dispute was investigated in the 1300 block of Whetstone Street.

4:22pm Officers investigated a report of people trespassing on the railroad tracks.

4:30pm One income tax summons was served at the police department.

4:38pm A report of a juvenile being assaulted by another child was made on Teddy Avenue.

5:34pm Seven income tax summons were issued to inmates at Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

6:00pm Officers assisted a person experiencing mental problems.

6:46pm A domestic dispute over child custody exchange was reported at the police department.

7:00pm Officers assisted a motorist locked out of their vehicle at Walmart.

7:36pm A welfare check was requested in the 400 block of East Warren Street.

7:40pm Officers investigated a domestic dispute in the 800 block of South Spring Street.

7:53pm A report of a missing 15-year-old was taken. Missing is Joshua Black of New Washington. Joshua is 5’2, 98lbs, brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, black jeans and carrying a black drawstring backpack. Foul play is not suspected.

7:58pm Officers assisted Life Support Ambulance personnel in the 700 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

9:21pm Officers assisted with an unruly juvenile in the 400 block of West Mansfield Street.

9:41pm Officers assisted the staff at Bucyrus Community Hospital with a disorderly intoxicated male in the ER.

11:56pm An Iron Street resident reported her prescription medication stolen and that she was being harassed by a male she knows.

Feb. 1

12:01am Officers on patrol conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of Myers Street.

12:14am A traffic warning was issued in the area of West Irving Street and Dean Street.
