Family spreads Christmas cheer

BUCYRUS – The Suits family has been through a lot in the past year.

Their son, Tyler, was sick and hospitalized.

“After Tyler got sick this year, we found ourselves with a very different focus. As the doctors tested everything they could and each time came in with even more grim possibilities, we prayed and so many members of this community prayed with us. It became a daily vigil and there was so much community outpouring that as he gained his health back we knew we wanted to do something special this year,” April Suits said.

One night, she and her husband, Doug, were sitting in their living room sorting through their Christmas display when they both looked at each other with the same idea.

“We pulled out our trees, and in that moment we both looked at each other and said, “let’s take some Christmas hope to someone else this year.” The next day we started posting on social media looking for anyone who may know someone who could use a little cheer this year and slowly names began to come to us,” April Suits said.

The couple wanted to bless a family that needed it the most.

Kids, of course, were our main focus because it was our little 6-year-old that inspired us. Eventually we narrowed it down to three families and just couldn’t decide which one was more in need than the others so we adopted all three,” said April Suits.

April Suits said that she and her family donated food and clothing to one family, toys for little girls to open from Santa for another family and the other received gifts and a decorated tree for their living room.

“We’re so thankful and blessed to get our little man back to health that giving to all three just felt like the right thing to do,” April Suits said.
