On Nov. 19, the Crawford County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society met at the Bucyrus Public Library for their final meeting of the year.

President Mary Fox opened the meeting. Don Wenner read the minutes from the October meeting. Mary Lou Hastings gave the Treasurer’s report.

Mary Fox announced that the Brokensword Cemetery histories will soon be for sale in bound copies. Fox suggested the group give $500 to the Ohio Genalogical Society for a larger computer to handle the 1,000 obituaries that we gave them to be put on CDs.

Our new board member Jette Candor, was introduced to the group.

Ken Mast and Don Wenner from our Chapter recently flew with the Veterans Honor Flight group to Washington D.C. There were 76 veterans that made the trip. Wheelchairs were provided and there was a service man or woman that accompanied each one to various monuments. Mast stated that the trip was memorable, humbling and emotional. He mentioned that he had blank forms for any veteran that was eligible. Wenner spoke about what the trip meant to him as a veteran of two wars.

A “Show and Tell” program was held where everyone showed the article which they brought to tell of its history. A social hour was enjoyed with a table of finger food to choose from. The first meeting of the coming year will be announced later.
