Air Force Staff Sergeant Carson Early, 33, was one of seven nominees for the 179th Maintenance Group NCO of the year.
The awards were given at a banquet in Mansfield on Saturday.

“It was a good feeling to be nominated,” he said. “Not just for me, but for my work center.”
Early, a 2001 Galion High School graduate, joined the group in 2009 and became full-time in 2013.
This was Early’s first nomination for the NCO award and his second overall nomination.
