Bucyrus Elementary School will welcome children’s author Stephen Swineburne to the building Tuesday, Oct. 6. This is Swineburne’s first visit to Bucyrus.

According to librarian Diane Kaple, Swineburne was selected as this year’s author, “because we wanted to explore the non-fiction genre and Stephen came highly recommended for his creative love of wildlife. He is a life-long naturalist and has worked as a ranger in a number of national parks. We are excited and can’t wait to ‘Get Wild about Reading’ with Stephen.”

The Elementary School’s Right to Read program is a monthly, year-long program designed to engage students in different reading activities. Funding for the Author Visit has been made possible by the support of the Bucyrus Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).

“Our PTO does a terrific job supporting the teachers and students in our building,” Kaple said. “I am grateful for their funding of this event, and want to personally thank them for their unwavering support in educating the children in Bucyrus.”

Please contact Kaple at [email protected] for additional information and questions.
