U.S. Constitution essay contest set for Crawford students

From Citizen to Patriot is once again sponsoring a U.S. Constitution Essay Contest for all students in Crawford County, grades 6 -12. This years contest commemorates the 228th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution .

The entry deadline for the contest is Oct. 9. Essays must address the theme, “What Does the U.S. Constitution Mean to Me” and cannot be longer than 1,000 words.

Essays must be typed, include a cover sheet with the student’s name, address, phone number, grade level and school name.

There will be winners in two divisions: Division One – Grades 6-8 and Division Two – Grades 9-12. Prizes are $100 for first place in each division, and $50 for second place in each division. All entrants will receive a certificate and a pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution. Winners will be notified by Oct. 23. Entries must be mailed by the deadline above to FCTP, Box 254, Galion 44833. No entries will be returned, so entrants must make a copy of their essay for their records.
