Galion superintendent candidates list released

Seven people are interviewing to replace outgoing Galion School District Superintendent Mark Stefanik, who is leaving his position Sept. 30.

They include:

* Stephen Alspaugh – principal at Bryan High School. Alspaugh lives in Bryan.

* Jay Arbaugh – most recently served as superintendent with Keystone School District. Arbaugh lives in Ashland.

* William Butler IV – Monroeville Elementary School principal. Butler lives in Milan.

* Roger Cade II- principal at Edgerton High School. Cade II lives in Hicksville.

* James Grubbs Jr. – Director of Business Affairs at Pioneer Career and Technology Center. Grubbs lives in Ashland.

* Stephen Larcomb – Superintendent at East Knox Local School District. Larcomb lives in Marion.

* Troy Radinsky- Grades 5-12 principal at Leetonia High School. Radinsky lives in Canfield.

The names and current cities of residence of each candidate were provided by the district’s search firm, Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.

“Seems like a good list,” Board of Education president Jennifer Kuns said. “We’ll have good people to interview (from) these candidates.”

Kuns has said the district hopes to have someone in place by mid-September.

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center is conducting the search at no cost to the district.
