Galion’s Kuns, Spears, Clark and Kaple earn first-team MOAC honors

The Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference has announced their all-conference honors for some of the spring sports for 2017. Both Galion and Northmor High Schools have multiple representatives on the lists.

BASEBALL

Receiving all-conference honors for the Galion Tigers baseball squad are: Garrett Kuns and Mac Spears, first-team; Will Donahue and Ryan Talbott, second-team; and Aaron Barnhart, honorable mention.

The MOAC Blue Division representatives will be announced the week of May 15.

SOFTBALL

The following Galion Lady Tigers have received all-conference honors for 2017: Nevaeh Clark and Gabby Kaple, first-team; Madelyn Thomas, second-team; and Emily Sedmak, honorable mention.

Representing the Northmor Lady Golden Knights with conference honors are: Cristianna Boggs and Lydia Farley, first-team; Lily Tate, second-team; and Aly Blunk, honorable mention.

TENNIS

The doubles team of Nic Oehler and Matt Sparks earned second-team All-MOAC for Galion with their recent run in the conference tournament. The Tigers’ duo outlasted their Buckeye Valley opponents and defeated the first doubles team from River Valley in a mararthon match before falling to the MOAC champions from Jonathan Alder, Patrick Koesters and Connor Dembek, in the finals.
