BUCYRUS – The Bucyrus Elementary School invites parents, guardians and community members to support the Pint Size Hero blood drive from 3-8 p.m. in the BES cafeteria March 15.

The blood drive is aimed at introducing children to the importance of donating blood. “I highly encourage folks to participate in this blood drive,” said event coordinator Diane Kaple. “Not only does it set a good example for the children, but it helps replenish blood supplies for those in need. Plus, the process only takes an hour. Your help can make a huge difference; one unit can save up to three lives.”

Individuals wishing to donate must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs., and be in general good health. Valid identification is also required.

Every student who invites an adult to come and donate on his or her behalf will be recognized as a Pint Size Hero and will receive an American Red Cross thank you gift.

To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code BucyrusES. For more information or to volunteer, please email Diane Kaple at [email protected], or call 419-569-2021. After 4 p.m. please visit www.redcross.org.
