A Galion woman who was hospitalized after a crash Tuesday afternoon in Washington Township said she is grateful for those who helped her.

Stacy Turner, 31, of Galion, was injured in a motorcyle and car crash at 2 p.m. on State Route 288 in Washington Township between State Route 61 and County Road 38 at the railroad crossing.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was first on scene and was assisted by Iberia Volunteer Fire Department, Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Morrow County EMS, Med Flight and Troopers from Post 59 of the Ohio State Patrol.

But Turner was also grateful for several nearby electricians who helped her directly after the crash.

“I want to let them know how grateful I am for them being so quick to assist,” Turner said. “They really held me together. I don’t even know who they are. They stayed by my side and they were like Angles. I am lucky to be alive.”

Turner was taken to OSU Hospital in Columbus via Med Flight, while Carr, 50, of Mansfield, was transported to Med Central Hospital in Mansfield.

Preliminary information from the Ohio State Highway Patrol indicates that a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Jon Carr, 50, of Mansfield, was traveling westbound on State Route 288 when it slowed to cross over the railroad tracks. According to reports, a red Honda SX vehicle, driven by Steven Keller, 28, of Mansfield, did not slow and rear ended the motorcycle.

“We were slowing down to go over the tracks, he didn’t slow down and I was on the back of the bike.” Turner said, “I flew off landed on my head and skidded on my right side. Something punctured my skull. There was blood everywhere. They ran straight over with a first aid kit. The one craddeled me in his arms. I want them to know how grateful I am.”
