Galion City Schools has planned a combined Kindergarten Registration and Screening Galion City Schools Aug. 5 at Galion Primary School.
Officials said children must be five before Aug. 1 to start kindergarten in the fall.
Parents must have the following to register:
* The child must be present
* Child’s birth certificate
* Shot records
* Social Security card
* In case of divorce or separation, legal custody papers are required
* Proof of residency (i.e., utility bill, rental agreement, or tax forms).
Participants must have an appointment for your registration and screening.

GALION GRADUATE PASSES BASIC TRAINING – Air Force Guard Airman First Class Austin W. Davis recently graduated from from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
According to officials there, the airman completed an eight-week program that included:
* Training in military discipline and studies
* Air Force core values
* Physical fitness
* Basic warfare principles and skills
Davis is the son of Angela M. Nicol of Galion, and Jason W. Davis of Mansfield, stepson of Julie Davis of Mansfield and brother of Brandon L. Davis and Brittany N. Kelly.
He is a 2014 graduate of Galion High School.
MID-OHIO NOW OFFERS U-HAUL – Mid Ohio Motorsports has signed on as a U-Haul neighborhood dealer.
Mid Ohio Motorsports, 7435 State Road 309, will offer U-Haul trucks, towing equipment, support rental items and in-store pickup for boxes.
Hours of operation for U-Haul rentals are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday and 1 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
