Colonel Crawford rolls over Bucyrus 62-27

BUCYRUS — With 27 points in the second quarter and 21 in the third, Colonel Crawford stopped a two-game losing streak in a big way Friday, knocking off Bucyrus 62-27.

It was an offensive onslaught for the Eagles, who improve to 4-2 on the season. They racked up 508 yards of offense, led by quarterback Hayden Bute and running back Blake Treisch.

Treisch carried the ball 17 times for 266 yards. He scored three touchdowns, including a 79-yard TD run.

Bute only threw five passes, but he completed four of them, for 159 yards and three touchdowns, including a 56-yard score to Kaleb Landin, and two TD passes to Owen Seevers, one for 48 yards and the other for 43 yards.

Bute also ran for a touchdown, He rushed for 60 yards, including the 48-yard TD run.

Trevor Shawber also had his way with the Bucyrus defense. Shawber carried the ball 14 times for 129 and a TD. The touchdown run was 40 yards.

Colonel Crawford’s eighth touchdown came on a 55-yard punt return by Kaden Schell.

The scored was tied 14-14 at the end of the first quarter, but the Eagles outscored their cross-county rival 48-13 in the second and third periods. No one scored in the fourth.

The Eagles’ defense held Bucyrus’ running game to just 34 yards on 10 attempts and one rushing touchdown. The Redmen did have some success through the air, completing 28 of 40 passes for 359 yards and three scores.
