GALION — The Galion Athletic Department will honor area veterans at Friday, Sept. 30 home football game vs. Marion Harding at Heise Park Stadium.

To that end, the administration is inviting all area veterans to come to the game and watch the Tigers. Veterans will receive free admission to the game and will be recognized prior to kickoff. Each veteran in attendance will receive a pass from the Galion Athletic Booster Club for use at the concession stand.

“We need to show our appreciation to our veterans for their sacrifice and service to our country,” said Galion Athletics Director Kyle Baughn. “We hope that all our veterans, and their families, will attend the game so we can say ‘thank you’.”

Along with recognizing veterans, the Athletics Department will have its annual Parents Night prior to kickoff. Student athletes will escort their parents across the field.

“Parents are the biggest key to academic and athletic success for our students,” Baughn said. “This is our way of thanking them for their dedication and commitment to their children and the Galion City School District.”
