GALION — A second youth baseball all-star team from Galion has qualified for its state tournament. Galion’s 10U team will start state tournament play July 23 in Dover.

With a 12-1 win over Bellevue on Thursday in New London, Galion clinched its tournament berth. The team was undefeated in the District 7 tournament.

Galion opened district play with a 13-1 win over New London, followed by a 24-1 over Lexington, and an 8-7 win over Bellevue, setting up Thursday’s title game with Bellevue. If Galion had lost, they would have had to play Bellevue a third time to advance.

Members of the championship team are Braxton Prosser, Carson Campbell, Carson Frankhouse, Carter Walters, Carter Weaver, Derek Prosser, Holden Hunter, Jayden Leach, Kael Longwell, Landon Campbell, Linkon Tyrrell, Max Albert, and Trevor Vogt.

Galion’s opponent in the state tournament opener will be the winner of the District 4 tournament.
