Records fall as Colonel Crawford wins another TCAL title

BUCYRUS — Colonel Crawford, for the 27th year in a row, won the Tri-County Aquatic League (TCAL) championship.

The meet was Saturday at the Bucyrus YMCA and included more than 270 swimmers. Eleven conference records were broken.

Colonel Crawford won easily, racking up 2,637 points, followed by Upper Sandusky, 1,038.5; Mount Gilead, 993; Galion, 818.5; Bucyrus, 763; Tiffin, 455; and Shelby, 33.3

Colonel Crawford’s Chloe Grove and Kassie Stine each set three conference marks. Grove, swimming in the 15-18 group. set records in the 200 Individual Medley, 100 freestyle and 200 free.

Stine, in the 11-12 group, set marks in the 100 IM, 100 freestyle and 50 breaststroke.

Other record-setters included Grant Pfeifer (C) in the15-18 200 free; Trevor Vogt (CC) in the 9-10 100 free; Colonel Crawford’s 15-18 Medley Relay team of Pierce Krassow, Kennedy Speck, Jillianne Gregg and Chloe Grove; Colonel Crawford’s 15-18 Freestyle Relay team of Pierce Krassow, Sari Conner, Chloe Grove and Jillianne Gregg; and Galion’s 13-14 Freestyle Relay team of Caleb Strack, Alec Dicus, Chris Amick and Ben Altstadt.
