The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a pond clinic from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on June 29. It will be at the Mike and Andrea Stump pond at 2805 Shearer Road, Bucyrus.
The evening will begin with a light meal provided by Whetstone Go-Getters 4-H Club from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Crawford SWCD program administrator Mike Hall will give an overview of pond site selection and construction. The Ohio State University Aquatic Ecosystems program director Eugene Braig will round out the evening with his presentation on pond management, fish stocking, aquatic plants and nuisance wildlife. Time is allotted for individual’s to ask both speakers specific questions and management difficulties or concerns. Individuals are welcome to bring pond weeds in a jar of water for identification.
The event will be held rain or shine and participants much bring lawn chairs. Please call the Crawford Soil and Water Office at 419-562-8280 extension 3 by June 27 to register.
