Second half real estate taxes due

0

Crawford County Treasurer Gary Cole announced that second-half real estate tax bills have been mailed. The final date for payment of these bills is Monday, June 20, and after that date, a 10 percent penalty will be added.

Many Crawford County property owners will have their taxes paid through mortgage payments and will not receive a bill unless it is requested. Otherwise, each landowner should receive a bill in the mail. If taxpayers have not received a second half tax bill, they should contact the County Treasurer’s Office at 562-7861 or 1-800-589-5744 or email at [email protected]. Office hours are 8:30 to 4:30, Weekdays. Parking will be available on the North side of the Courthouse Administration Building.

In addition to paying at the Treasurer’s office in the courthouse, tax payments may be made at any United Bank or First Federal Community Bank in Crawford County until June 20. If paying at one of these bank offices, taxpayers must bring their 2nd half tax statements.

Taxpayers may also use credit cards to pay real estate taxes in the Treasurer’s Office. This is in addition to the options to pay over their home phone (1-855-825-0556) and the internet. Please go the County Treasurer’s web page at www.crawford-co.org for further information and directions.

Taxpayers on a payment plan for delinquent taxes must make the required payments by June 20 to prevent possible legal action.

Any taxpayer interested in starting a Pre-pay plan or Automatic Bank payments should contact the Treasurer’s office as soon as possible. The payments for next years’ taxes on these plans will begin in July. Next year’s Pre-pay coupon books will be available after the second half taxes are paid.
