Update: Galion, Crestline power out

0

Galion is experiencing a citywide power outage. The Line Department is in the process of troubleshooting the problem and will work to get power back on as quickly as possible.

The Village of Crestline has been reported to lose power.

Galion Mayor Tom O’Leary said there was equipment failure on the east side of the city. The city, which is the electric utility provider for its residents, purchases the power from Amp Ohio and the transmission lines from FirstEnergy, based in Akron.

O’Leary said FirstEnergy has dispatched a crew to fix the problem, but there was no estimated time given of when power would be restored.

Galion serves 6,000 electric users, O’Leary said.
