The Heart of Ohio Council Day Camp was recently held at Ontario Lions Community Park for Cub Scouts in grades 1-5 from Crawford, Richland and Ashland counties.

“Take Flight,” the theme for the three-day event, allows Scouts to meet with experts from the Ohio Bird Sanctuary and representatives of the Air Guard.

The scouts participated in bird flights, weather, archery, BB guns, field sports, pilot training, nature survival, crafts, model aircrafts, kites and finger rockets.

The Heart of Ohio Council Day Camp is hosted by the volunteers of the Johnny Appleseed Trail District.
