Repurposed, refurbished, reloved: New business opens in Bucyrus

It is a new day with a new business for Ally Suter. The single mom of two boys opened her own business in Bucyrus, 2 Begin Again, officially on Friday.

Suter’s motto for her business is, “Repurposed, refurbished, reloved.”

“All things can be new again. I love taking something old that has a past story and turning it into something new that will have a new story to tell,” said Suter.

Suter has several years of retail experience and a degree in severe behavioral disorders with a minor in art.

“Through the years, I had lost my creative self but recent events in my life, including turning 40, made me want to get back to that. I created a jewelry line and was able to hold a few shows to get orders through my friend, Laura Weir, of Buckeyes and Bluegrass (Antiques and Crafts),” Suter said.

Suter said local business owners have been supportive of her endeavor.

“Natalie of Norman’s Niche, Betsy at MB Subculture, Diana Shroll and Carla Seif of Angles, along with Laura, have been extremely supportive of the opening of my own business,” said Suter who offers Shroll’s Canine Cookies as part of the inventory in her store.

Suter’s shop, located at 109 W. Warren St., offers an array of vintage clothing in teen girls through women’s sizes along with Suter’s original art pieces, unique household items and décor and handmade jewelry. Larger pieces by other vendors will be offered at the store intermittently.

“I want people to enjoy coming into my store and finding a piece that is unique,” Suter said.

Suter’s sons, 14-year-old Ethan and 12-year-old Evan, have been supportive of their mom in opening her shop.

“They have been wonderful. Ethan will be helping out in the store with some things and my sister will be doing the bookkeeping side of the business,” Suter said.

Suter’s shop is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

“Fridays will be my roaming day that I use to search for new pieces for the store,” Suter said.

A ribbon cutting was held on Friday for the business by the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce.

“This is a unique business that most small towns are not lucky enough to have. We are fortunate to have businesses like this in Bucyrus while others have to drive to larger cities to purchase the types of items that are offered at 2 Begin Again,” said Tyler Jacobs of the Chamber.
