Staff report

The Bucyrus Elementary School is hosting “The Sights and Sounds of Preschool,” a special event for parents and friends of current preschool and incoming preschool students for the 2016-2017 school year. The event is scheduled from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday.

Parents and friends will have the opportunity to meet the Bucyrus Elementary 4-Star Preschool Teachers, as well as view a special video welcome from current preschool students. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn fun ways to help their child learn to read.

Barb Scott from the Bucyrus Public Library will be on hand sharing children’s activities and programs. Fourth grade Leader in Me students will greet the parent guests when they arrive, and conduct a skit describing The Leader in Me 7 Habits.

The program will end with a special talk from parent advocacy representative Mary Fields, who will show parents how to use materials in a gift bag she’s prepared for them to take home. Pre-School teacher Kristine Fourman will also offer suggestions related to classroom activities.

Muffins and juice will be provided during the event. Those with questions can contact Bucyrus Elementary Preschool Director Robin Showers or Gifted Coordinator Carrie Wood at 419-562-6089.
