Housing sales in Crawford County improve

Housing sales improved in March for five out of six school districts in Crawford County.

The Galion school district had 15 homes sold last month compared with 10 in March 2015, according to data provided by the Mansfield Association of Realtors. The average price for homes was $67,170 in March compared with $49,326. Total dollar volume had a similar increased to $69,907 last month. But homes were the market longer at an average of 201 days last month compared with 147 in March 2015.

The Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford and Crestline districts both had increases of two homes in March.

There were five homes sold in Bucyrus last month. The total dollar volume for the district last month was $71,680 and the average price was $69,130 compared with $69,233 and $65,633, respectively, in March 2015. Like Galion, homes were on the market longer for an average of 188 days last month compared with 138 in March 2015.

Colonel Crawford had four homes sold in March with the total dollar volume and average price at $92,925 and $85,875, respectively. That’s up when compared with the total dollar volume and average price at $76,550 and $61,000, respectively.

Three homes were sold in Crestline last month. The total dollar volume was $51,933 in March compared with $25,000 in March 2015. The average price for homes spiked to $47,833 in March compared with $18,000 in March 2015. Homes were on the market for an average of 285 days — a spike from 23 days in March 2015.

Buckeye Central sold two homes in March compared with one in March 2015. The total dollar volume was $99,950 in March compared with $69,900 in March 2015. The average price was $90,000 — up by $30,000 from March 2015. But homes were on the market for an average of 96 days last month compared with 198 in March 2015.

Wynford sold no homes last month or in March 2015.

The Northmor school district, which is based in Morrow County, sold five homes in March compared with three homes in March 2015. The total dollar volume was $208,440 compared in March compared with $91,767 in March 2015. The average price was $191,800 last month compared with $87,833 in March 2015. Homes were on the market for a longer period of time for 111 days on average in March compared with 92 days in March 2015.
