BUCYRUS — Community Counseling Services is providing a “Toxic Stress” workshop Thursday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to noon. The workshop is for healthcare workers, first responders and the public.

Participants will learn how toxic stress impacts our society, caregivers, and those who respond to traumatic events, as well as strategies to reduce toxic stress. Counselors and social workers will be offered 3.5 continuing education credits for a $20 fee. Participants not seeking credits may attend for free.

Space is limited and the deadline to register to attend is May 15. To register for the Toxic Stress workshop, contact Chloe at Community Counseling Services by calling 419-562-2000 or emailing [email protected].

Immediately following the workshop there will be refreshments and an open house for the community from noon-1:30 p.m.

The Open House will feature the Play Therapy Department, including the observation room, therapy tools, and expert clinicians, made possible by donations from the Crawford-Marion Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services. Those attending the Open House may drop in and no pre-registration is necessary.

Community Counseling Services has offices in Crestline, Galion and Bucyrus and has provided behavioral healthcare for more than 38 years.
