Saturday, Feb. 24, 2017

11:24 a.m. — a resident of Libby Lane called police to report that the new windshield wipers on his vehicle had been replaced with old wipers.

1:22 p.m. — Police investigated a report of a man sitting on a bench in Public Square and either singing loudly or yelling at himself. The man said he was doing nothing wrong.

7:57 p.m. — Police investigated a report of vehicles drag-racing in the southern part of Galion. Officers couldn’t locate any racers.

8:48 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a person laying at the end of a driveway, who was not moving, near Harding Way East and Second Avenue. They did not find anyone.

Sunday, Feb. 25, 2017

12:45 a.m. — Police received a report of two people fighting in the middle of the road in the 500 block of Kroft Street. When officers arrived, the fighters had apparently fled the scene in their vehicles.

1:59 a.m. — Police responded to the 300 block of Gill Avenue after a 911 hangup call. A resident at the address was taken to the Crawford County jail and was held until sober. Additional charges are possible.

4:02 p.m. — Police responded to a business in the 300 block of South Market Street after someone called about a person who had possibly overdosed on drugs in their parking lot. They said they knocked on the window, but the person in the car did not respond. A man was charged with possession of drugs, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and other charges.

4:47 p.m. — A resident reported that while his residence was being painted, medication was stolen from a safe.

8:15 p.m. — A woman called police and reported that her daughter had been assaulted by three other girls at the Sk8 place.

9:08 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Koppe Court. A woman said her husband was drunk and had gotten physical. She left the residence with a relative.

Saturday, Feb. 26, 2017

2:14 a.m. — Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of South Market Street and issued verbal warnings to the two people who were involved.

12:14 p.m. — Following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Fairview Avenue, in reference to a defective exhaust, police arrested a women for possession of drug abuse instruments and other chargers and took her to the Crawford County Justice Center.

3:40 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an aggressive dog in the area. The dog warden was called and captured the animal.

9:45 a.m. — A woman in the 100 block of South Jefferson reported receiving threatening phone calls from a former acquaintance she already has a protective order against.

10:40 a.m. — A resident in the 600 block of Grove Avenue asked officer to check on welfare of a woman in the neighborhood who may have been diagnosed with Alzheimers.

Friday, Feb. 24, 2017

1:36 p.m. — Officers investigated a drug issue at the Bucyrus Secondary School.

1:45 p.m. — A South Walnut Street resident reported his bicycle stolen from in front of the Moose Lodge.

3:36 p.m. — A report of loud music in the 1600 block of Marion Road was resolved with a warning.

3:49 p.m. — A rear license plate GVM6811 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of W. Mansfield Street.

4:06 p.m. — A resident in the 700 block of Ann Street reported being threatened.

5:17 p.m. — A resident in the 900 block of Elm Street reported receiving harassing messages from someone she knows.

7:11 p.m. — Officers responded to a domestic violence report in the 1000 block of High St. A 290year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were arrested for domestic violence and taken to the Crawford County Justice Center.

2:05 a.m. — Officers investigated 4 open line 9-1-1 calls in the 100 block of W. Oakwood Ave. and found it was a toddler playing with a phone.

3:43 a.m. — A 21-year-old woman was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the 100 block of East Irving Street.

4:06 a.m. — A report of a suspicious person in the 900 block of Wingert St. was investigated.

2:10 p.m. — A report of items stolen from a vehicle in the 1800 block of E. Mansfield St. was taken. The theft happened sometime a few weeks ago.

4:26 p.m. — Officers assisted Crawford County deputies in the area of 98 north of town after a train conductor reported a cow loose around the train tracks in the area. No cows were located.

4:35 p.m. — A call about a raccoon in parking lot 2 sleeping under a patron’s vehicle was checked. The raccoon appeared healthy and was left alone in the area.

6:16 p.m. — A report of a possible sex crime was investigated and referred to children services.

7:10 p.m. — A report of a young child unsupervised at Holiday Inn Express was investigated. The child was reunited with a parent.

11:03 p.m. — A report of a suspicious person banging on a door in the 900 block of Elm Street was investigated. It turned out to be a pizza delivery driver at the wrong house.

2:31 a.m. — A Bucyrus man was arrested for OVI in City Lot 3.

12:04 p.m. — A report of a disturbance in the 700 block of Sunset Dr. was investigated.

3:40 p.m. — Officers assisted with an unruly juvenile in the 300 block of W. Warren St.

8:05 p.m. — An audible alarm from the Historical Society was investigated and was a false alarm by unknown cause.

10:16 p.m. — A Mount Gilead resident reported her wallet stolen while at a residence on Rogers Street the previous night.

Monday, Feb. 27, 2017

12:51 a.m. — A warning for a barking dog was issued in the 1100 block of E. Southern Avenue.

2:53 p.m. — Officers received a report of an erratic driver in the area of North Sandusky Avenue and Irving Street. The driver was contacted and was found to be sober and overly careful.

Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017

12:39 a.m. — Officers investigated a report of an intoxicated driver on North Sandusky Avenue near Perry Street. A vehicle was stopped in the 1600 block of East Southern Avenue. The driver backed up, crashing into the police cruiser causing minor damage to both vehicles. A 42-year-old woman was arrested on charges of possession of drugs and tampering with evidence. She was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for a court appearance and her vehicle was towed from the scene. A 37-year-old passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. She was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for each charge and released with a court date.
