In the wake of last week’s 2024 Ohio Chamber Housing Summit, we continue to focus on the issue of housing for all Ohioans. Every Ohioan should have access to safe, affordable housing, and this goal can only be accomplished if we work together.

“Three be the things I shall never attain: Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.”

Two of my top priorities are supporting Ohio manufacturers and lowering costs for Ohio families.

In traveling across the Buckeye State, the topic of housing continues to be top of mind for our fellow Ohioans.

Every few years I stumble upon a news story about a crime so hilariously outrageous that I immediately think to myself, “Well, that has to be the subject of a Gazette column.” News out of Australia provided just such a story in early December, when local authorities put out an APB for a missing truck containing 10,000 donuts.

“The right to an attorney, although paramount, is sometimes in conflict with the right to have a timely resolution of a case. We’re really walking a tightrope between both needs.”

The last time we visited El Salvador we invited a pastor friend of ours who has a healing ministry. I contacted several churches in El Salvador to arrange a week worth of meetings. Some days we had two services, but mostly the services were in the evening.

Our national security depends on constant innovation, including from the defense industry.

For most teachers, hard work never pays off the way it should. It’s no secret that they are underpaid and overworked, always sacrificing for their students, families and communities. For many educators, that includes spending their own hard-earned money on classroom supplies to give students the education they deserve.
