It’s a family affair at Hamilton Insurance Services Inc. Neil Hamilton owns the business and all three of his kids - Brian, Christine and Michael - work with him.

Last month, the Mansfield-based insurance agency opened a Galion location, in Suite 106 of the office building at 120 Harding Way East.

The Galion-Crestline Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the business on April 4. Hamilton, along with two of his children and granddaughters Elizabeth and Makayla, welcomed representatives from the Chamber and the City of Galion.

Hamilton Insurance will be at this location for about the next six months. Hamilton wants to then move to a location with a storefront and windows, but would like to stay in the Uptowne District. He also emphasized that community involvement is a major focus for him and his family.

The agency has been serving the community since 1992 and has a total of nine employees, It offers personal, business and auto insurance. It is the largest Auto-Owners Insurance agency in Richland County, and the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce named it the Small Business of the Year in 2011.

On opening the Galion location, Hamilton explained he purchased the property and casualty business from Midland Service Agency, which closed several months ago. He did not buy the corporate entity itself, however. Any former clients of Midland should contact him for more information.

The Galion location is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The phone number is 419-462-1555 (the number for the Mansfield office is 419-526-4700). For a quote request, visit www.hamiltonins.net.
