Pictured above is McKinley's Desk, used in an office of Galion Building and Loan Bank. The bank's first location, above Citizens National Bank (where U.S. Bank currently stands), was adjacent to the law office of William Greer. The attorney was very active in Republican politics and served as Galion's mayor for two terms (1891-93, 1906-1910).

Greer was friends with William McKinley, the 25th president of the United States (elected 1896, re-elected in 1900) and also Governor of Ohio (elected 1891, re-elected 1893). McKinley gave the desk to Greer as a gift, who then passed it on to GBL.
