Petitions due in 1 week!

There is only one week left for those interested in running for a position in Galion’s new government to get their petitions signed. Petitions are due by Feb. 6 at 4 p.m., to the Crawford County Board of Elections office (130 N. Walnut Street, Bucyrus). Please note that anyone who wants to run for the positions of mayor, law director, auditor, treasurer, city council ward, city council at-large or council president in the special election on May 7 MUST turn in a petition.

Petitions are available at the Board of Elections office. Galion citizens may pick up a petition during normal office hours, 8:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. Ask a clerk for a petition for the Galion special election. All positions require at least 75 signatures, except for the city council ward position, which only requires a minimum of 50. Call the office at 419–562-8721 for more information.
