GHS, NHS grapplers triumph

Galion blasted Cory-Rawson 60–10 in the open­ing round of the OHSAA Divi­sion III Regional Team Tour­na­ment at Wood­more on Wednesday.

The Tigers will wres­tle Wood­more at Upper San­dusky next Wednes­day. If they win, they’ll take on the vic­tor of the Upper San­dusky and Carey match.

Reg­is­ter­ing wins for the Orange-and-Blue against Cory-Rawson were:

Car­son McIe, 113 pounds, 18–2 tech­ni­cal fall over Devin Meyer;

Justin Kleinknecht, 120, 11–1 major deci­sion of Bran­don Eck;

Zac Tupps, 126, 4–3 deci­sion over Zach Smith;

Drake Bar­nett, 145, pin of Lance But­ler at 2:00;

Mason Fry, 170, pin of Jacob Collins at :43;

and Zach Brown, 195, pin of Jacob Wineland at 1:36.

Tigers notch­ing for­feit wins were: Austin Reyes, 106; Nick Flow­ers, 138; Deaken McCoy, 220; and Tristin Schroeder, 285.

There was a dou­ble for­feit at 152 pounds.

At North­mor, the Golden Knights scored a 57–11 vic­tory over Frederick-town.

For the Black-and-Gold:

Sam Neer, 126, pinned Logan Jones at 3:51;

Mitchell Whisler, 132, pinned Matthew Grif­fin at 2:16;

Jamie Baldridge, 145, pinned Colten Lybarger at 1:21;

Jacob Walker, 152, pinned Milan Pozderac at :37;

Cody Ross, 170; pinned Colton Foltz at 1:57;

and Lane Fos­ter, 182, pinned Jacob Lloyd at :48.

Also, Grif­fin Jenk­ins, 113, had an 11–0 major deci­sion of Cameron Snyder;

Jake Far­ley, 138, notched a 21–5 tech­ni­cal fall of Austin Palms;

to go along with for­feit wins for Tyler Beck, 195; and Adam Bar­nett, 220;

There were dou­ble for­feits at 160 and 285.
