From Citizen to Patriot’s monthly meeting event is scheduled for Thursday Jan. 17. It will be held at BJ’s Restaurant (Backroom) at 6:30 p.m. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. so that those who wish to do so may order off the menu. We will start off the year’s activities with a “Minutemen Modules” session to plan our activities, programs, events. All patriots are welcome.

Winter Nature Walk for Seniors Jan. 18
Gorman Nature Center will hold a Winter Nature Walk for Seniors, Friday, Jan. 18 at 1:30 p.m. The pace will be slow and easy as we talk and explore the Center’s trails. The Gorman Nature Center is located at 2295 Lexington Ave., south of Mansfield. All programs are free and open to the public. For additional information call 419–884-3764.
Chili Supper
Jan. 18
St. Paul Lutheran Church, State Route 602 North Robinson, will have their annual Chili Supper on Friday Jan. 18 from 4 — 7 p.m. The event will take place before the Colonel Crawford vs. Buckeye Central boys basketball game.
The menu will include chili, cornbread, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, pie and drinks. Carry out is available. Free will donation.

Galion boys basketball will face Bucyrus at Galion High School on Jan. 18. The junior varsity game begins at 6 p.m., varsity at 7:30 p.m.
Rock’n Fossil Day Jan. 19
Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center will host Rock’n Fossil Day on Jan. 19, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center is a rock hound destination. National Lime and Stone sponsored our geology exhibit and also donated fossils for the porch of the Nature Center. We have a superior collection of Ohio Gem Stones that was donated by Tom and Pam Kottyan. At 1pm, Tom Kottyan will give a presentation titled “Florescent Minerals: Discover the Beauty Within”. The Richland Lithic and Lapidary Society will provide a special exhibit of florescent rock. The Pallasite Meteorite displayed this past summer at the Nature Center will be on display again. Add to those the many interesting displays of exhibitors and the stage will be set for an awesome Rock’n Fossil Day. Hope you can attend!

‘Tailgate Party’

Kids in grades 3–6 are invited to the Galion Public Library, 123 N Market St, on Saturday, January 19th from 2–4 p.m. for a tailgate party at the library. Come out and support your favorite team! We’ll have crafts, snacks, Wii Football and other fun football activities. There is no charge for this event but registration is required.
