From Cit­i­zen to Patriot’s monthly meet­ing event is sched­uled for Thurs­day Jan. 17. It will be held at BJ’s Restau­rant (Back­room) at 6:30 p.m. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. so that those who wish to do so may order off the menu. We will start off the year’s activ­i­ties with a “Min­ute­men Mod­ules” ses­sion to plan our activ­i­ties, pro­grams, events. All patri­ots are welcome.

Win­ter Nature Walk for Seniors Jan. 18

Gor­man Nature Cen­ter will hold a Win­ter Nature Walk for Seniors, Fri­day, Jan. 18 at 1:30 p.m. The pace will be slow and easy as we talk and explore the Center’s trails. Chili Sup­per

Jan. 18

St. Paul Lutheran Church, State Route 602 North Robin­son, will have their annual Chili Sup­per on Fri­day Jan. 18 from 4 — 7 p.m. The event will take place before the Colonel Craw­ford vs. Buck­eye Cen­tral boys bas­ket­ball game.

The menu will include chili, corn­bread, chicken sand­wiches, hot dogs, pie and drinks. Carry out is avail­able. Free will donation.

Galion Boys Bas­ket­ball Jan. 18

Galion boys bas­ket­ball will face Bucyrus at Galion High School on Jan. 18. The junior var­sity game begins at 6 p.m., var­sity at 7:30 p.m.

Rock’n Fos­sil Day Jan. 19

Lowe-Volk Park Nature Cen­ter will host Rock’n Fos­sil Day on Jan. 19, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Lowe-Volk Park Nature Cen­ter is a rock hound des­ti­na­tion. National Lime and Stone spon­sored our geol­ogy exhibit and also donated fos­sils for the porch of the Nature Cen­ter. We have a supe­rior col­lec­tion of Ohio Gem Stones that was donated by Tom and Pam Kottyan. At 1pm, Tom Kottyan will give a pre­sen­ta­tion titled “Flo­res­cent Min­er­als: Dis­cover the Beauty Within”. The Rich­land Lithic and Lap­idary Soci­ety will pro­vide a spe­cial exhibit of flo­res­cent rock. The Pal­l­a­site Mete­orite dis­played this past sum­mer at the Nature Cen­ter will be on dis­play again. Add to those the many inter­est­ing dis­plays of exhibitors and the stage will be set for an awe­some Rock’n Fos­sil Day. Hope you can attend!

Tail­gate Party’

Kids in grades 3–6 are invited to the Galion Pub­lic Library, 123 N Mar­ket St, on Sat­ur­day, Jan­u­ary 19th from 2–4 p.m. for a tail­gate party at the library. Come out and sup­port your favorite team! We’ll have crafts, snacks, Wii Foot­ball and other fun foot­ball activ­i­ties. There is no charge for this event but reg­is­tra­tion is required.
