For once-a-century date, some making special plans

BOSTON (AP) — With a once-a-century date com­ing, some peo­ple are bet­ting on good luck on 12–12-12.

Numerol­o­gist and author Vikki MacK­in­non says the date rep­re­sents two ener­gies merg­ing, mak­ing it a beau­ti­ful day for weddings.

She says that’s good news for the cou­ples who are plan­ning to say their “I do’s” on Wednesday.

Some casi­nos have planned pro­mo­tions, includ­ing spe­cial wed­ding pack­ages, to draw in cus­tomers who want to test their luck.

In Pitts­burgh, an assis­tant U.S. attor­ney plans to wed a U.S. deputy mar­shal at 12:12 p.m. in the fed­eral cour­t­house downtown.

And in Michi­gan, Anna Gandy will cel­e­brate her 12th birth­day on 12–12-12 by going to the mall to get her ears pierced.
