Westmoor sewer project finances change

In Jan­u­ary of 2010, the Craw­ford County Board of Com­mis­sion­ers signed three con­tracts with Elite Exca­vat­ing, Ontario, for the work to be done in Polk Township’s West­moor addi­tion to install a sys­tem to con­nect res­i­dents there into the water and sewer ser­vices of the City of Galion. The work went out for bids in three phases; Elite Exca­vat­ing won all three con­tracts and was able to per­form the work on all three phases at the same time.

Con­tract No. 1 was approved in the amount of $318,825.25, which included a $5,000 reduc­tion because Elite was awarded all three contracts.

Con­tract No. 2 was approved in the amount of $2,741.866.83, which included a $20,000 reduc­tion for the same reason.

Con­tract No. 3 was approved in the amount of $590,346, which included a $5,000 reduc­tion, also because Elite won all three contracts.

The total to be paid to Elite Exca­vat­ing was $3,651,065.08.

Dur­ing the course of the project, change orders were approved from time to time. Changes imple­mented both increases and reduc­tions in the base con­tract amounts.

Con­tract No. 1 was amended by Change Order No. 1 which reduced the cost by $1,485; Change Order No. 2 added $6,639.96 to the con­tract cost. The cur­rent total for Con­tract No. 1 is $324,007.21, a 1 per­cent increase.

Con­tract No. 2 was amended by Change Order No. 1, which reduced by $11,907 from the pre­vi­ous total; Change Order No. 2 approved an increase of $81,348.90. Change Order No. 3 approved an increase of $11,762.08. A recent res­o­lu­tion approved by the com­mis­sion­ers reduced Con­tract No. 2 by $100,271.82. The cur­rent total cost for Con­tract No. 2 is $2,899,818.47, a 5 per­cent increase.

Con­tract No. 3 was amended by Change Order No. 1 with an increase of ; Change Order No. 2 increased the project cost by $20,445.72; Change Order No. 3 reduced the con­tract amount by $2,591.28. The cur­rent value of Con­tract No. 3 is $630,200.77, a 6 per­cent increase from the orig­i­nal cost.

The cur­rent total to be paid to Elite Exca­vat­ing under these three con­tracts is $3,854,926,45.
