SWCD teaches about farm animals
Diane Sand, education information coordinator at the Soil and Water Conservation District, leads a sheep past a line of pre-school students at Galion Primary School.
On Oct. 4, employees from the Crawford County Soil and Water Conservation District spent the day at Galion Primary School. Julie Sand, education information coordinator, talked to students in grades pre-K through first grade about the importance of farm animals and what they are used for in a program called “Livestock Live.” With the help of Program Coordinator Mike Hall and Technician Don Fishpaw, she had a sheep, calf, goat, chicken and two piglets to show that day.
