The Crawford Park District held is regular monthly meeting on Oct. 18.
The CPD Commissioners passed Resolution18-2012, authorizing the payment for liability insurance. The CPD Strategic Plan has been updated. Commissioners passed Res. 19–2012 to activate the revised version. Res. 21–2012 also passed, which accepted the amounts and rates of the .4mill levy for the CPD that passed last March.
CPD Commissioner Bill Fisher updated the commissioners and advisors on the post audit meeting held Oct. 3. The audit disclosed no instances of noncompliance or other matters. Fisher commended Secretary Patti Schiefer for her good record keeping.
He also announced that the Nature Center set a record high for attendance during the month of September, which he attributed to the showing of the pallasite meteorite. Fisher recognized all of the organizations and volunteers that helped make Unger Farm Heritage day on Sept. 22 a success.
CPD Naturalist Josh Dyer is working on a new website for the district. Updates for the current site can only be done from one computer because of the webmaster that the site operates through. Under the new webmaster, multiple people will be able to update the site.
The meeting for Friends of the Park began immediately after. The only item on the agenda was a revised statement from The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation on the endowment that it oversees for the Friends.
With no other business the meeting adjourned. The next CPD and Friends of the Park meeting is Nov. 15 at 7:30 a.m. at the Lowe Volk Park Nature Center.
