Park District and Friends have Oct. meeting

The Craw­ford Park Dis­trict held is reg­u­lar monthly meet­ing on Oct. 18.

The CPD Com­mis­sion­ers passed Resolution18-2012, autho­riz­ing the pay­ment for lia­bil­ity insur­ance. The CPD Strate­gic Plan has been updated. Com­mis­sion­ers passed Res. 19–2012 to acti­vate the revised ver­sion. Res. 21–2012 also passed, which accepted the amounts and rates of the .4mill levy for the CPD that passed last March.

CPD Com­mis­sioner Bill Fisher updated the com­mis­sion­ers and advi­sors on the post audit meet­ing held Oct. 3. The audit dis­closed no instances of non­com­pli­ance or other mat­ters. Fisher com­mended Sec­re­tary Patti Schiefer for her good record keeping.

He also announced that the Nature Cen­ter set a record high for atten­dance dur­ing the month of Sep­tem­ber, which he attrib­uted to the show­ing of the pal­l­a­site mete­orite. Fisher rec­og­nized all of the orga­ni­za­tions and vol­un­teers that helped make Unger Farm Her­itage day on Sept. 22 a success.

CPD Nat­u­ral­ist Josh Dyer is work­ing on a new web­site for the dis­trict. Updates for the cur­rent site can only be done from one com­puter because of the web­mas­ter that the site oper­ates through. Under the new web­mas­ter, mul­ti­ple peo­ple will be able to update the site.

The meet­ing for Friends of the Park began imme­di­ately after. The only item on the agenda was a revised state­ment from The Bucyrus Area Com­mu­nity Foun­da­tion on the endow­ment that it over­sees for the Friends.

With no other busi­ness the meet­ing adjourned. The next CPD and Friends of the Park meet­ing is Nov. 15 at 7:30 a.m. at the Lowe Volk Park Nature Center.
