Merilyn J. Brown

Mer­i­lyn J. Brown, 79 of Crest­line died Thurs­day, Oct. 18, 2012 at Olen­tangy Woods in Galion after an extend illness.

Born Oct. 28, 1932 in Craw­ford County, she was the daugh­ter of the late Grover Stephen and Ella Emma (Lee) Neu­mann. She was pre­ceded in death on May 20, 2008 by her hus­band, Gay­lord Brown whom she mar­ried on May 27, 1951.

She was a grad­u­ate of Leesville High School in 1951 and a mem­ber of the Nazarene Church of Crest­line. She enjoyed gar­den­ing, walk­ing in her woods and play­ing in the river. She retired from the for­mer ITT in Galion where she worked as an assembler.

Sur­viv­ing are numer­ous nieces and nephews, includ­ing Anna (Roger) Slone of Crest­line; numer­ous great nieces and nephews includ­ing, Sheila Maley and Loretta Slone; two broth­ers, Lee Neu­mann of Mans­field and John (Nancy) Neu­mann of Galion; five sis­ters, Christina Mackey of Galion, Rosella Wood of Upper San­dusky, Ruth Gwirtz of Crest­line, Eve­lyn Lan­goehr of Galion and Jill Stall of Galion.

She was pre­ceded in death by three broth­ers, William, Albert and Franklin Neu­mann; three sis­ters, Betty Cole, Grace Ball and Dorothy Neumann.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mon­day, Oct. 22, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where ser­vices will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mon­day, Oct. 22 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home with Pas­tor Todd Tomp­kins offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will be in Olen­tangy Cemetery.
