Maxine M. Thoman

Max­ine M. Thoman, 89, of 624 John St. Apt. 1, Crest­line, died sud­denly on Thurs­day, Octo­ber 4, 2012 at Galion Com­mu­nity Hos­pi­tal, Galion.

Max­ine was born in Ver­non Twp., on Feb­ru­ary 18, 1923 to the late Austin and Esther M. (Swarer) Watt Mor­ris. She mar­ried Charles E. “Fritz” Thoman on August 22, 1941 and he pre­ceded her in death on Novem­ber 21, 2003

Max­ine was a 1940 grad­u­ate of Tiro High School and also grad­u­ated from the Mans­field Busi­ness Col­lege. She retired from Crest­line Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal serv­ing in admin­is­tra­tion for 25 years and worked a total of 37 years. She was a mem­ber of the Trin­ity Lutheran Church, Crest­line. She enjoyed play­ing cards, writ­ing poetry, and trav­el­ing. An avid reader, Max­ine served her church as a reader. She had a strong sense of fam­ily and noth­ing was more impor­tant to her.

She is sur­vived by a son Chuck Thoman, Crest­line, two grand­daugh­ters, Sandy and Scott Thoman Rice, Las Vegas, NV, Cindy and Tim Gar­rett, Crest­line, great grand­daugh­ters Feli­cia and Vic­to­ria Gar­rett, Gra­cie Ann Rice, her brother Carl and Margie Watt, Galion, a nephew, Bill Span­gler, Galion, and three nieces, Sharon Studer, Bucyrus, Tammy (Tim) McHugh, Tuc­son, AZ, and Kristi (Ron) Fox, Galion, sev­eral great nieces and great nephews, Chad Span­gler, Shawn (Vicki) Span­gler, Matthew (Sheree) Studer, Shel­ley (Shawn) Maiyer, Kate McHugh, Laura McHugh, Grant (Chelsea) Fox, and Olivia Fox. She also is sur­vived by her beloved cats, Tommy and Cookie.

She was pre­ceded in death by a sis­ter Pauline E. Span­gler and a nephew, Bob Watt.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sun­day at the Mark A. Schnei­der Funeral Home, Crest­line, and one hour prior to funeral ser­vices which will be held at Trin­ity Lutheran Church, Crest­line on Mon­day, Octo­ber 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pas­tor Diana Sea­man offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Green­lawn Ceme­tery, Crestline.

Memo­r­ial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to the Trin­ity Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
