Evelyn Case

Eve­lyn Case, 96, of North Ridgeville and for­merly of Galion died Thurs­day, Oct. 11, 2012 at her home.

Born Feb. 22, 1916 in Ridgeton, she was the daugh­ter of the late Chris­t­ian and Fanny (Endel) Schnar­ren­berger. She was pre­ceded in death on Jan. 20, 2003 by her devoted hus­band, E. Henry Case, whom she mar­ried on July 8, 1945.

Eve­lyn was a grad­u­ate of Holmes Lib­erty High School. She was a long­time active mem­ber of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion where she taught Sun­day school for many years. She was also a mem­ber of Amer­i­can Legion Scar­brough Post 243 where she was Aux­il­iary Pres­i­dent and VFW Post 4329 Aux­il­iary where she was past Pres­i­dent and past Dis­trict Pres­i­dent. Dur­ing her time in Galion, she had a 35 year career work­ing at J & H Shoe Store.

As all who knew her well can attest, Eve­lyn could always be found cook­ing incred­i­ble meals and desserts for fam­ily and friends, or knit­ting a new project for dona­tion or a per­son­al­ized present. A fiercely devoted wife and fam­ily matri­arch, Eve­lyn will be fondly remem­bered by all.

Sur­viv­ing are one son, Chris Case of Chat­tanooga, Tenn.; one daugh­ter, Bar­bara Stew­art of Avon; four grand­chil­dren, Ryan (Terry) Stew­art, Matthew (Kath­leen) Stew­art, Kristina (Ryan) Eichar, Adam Case, and two great-grandchildren Maxwell Stew­art and Rylan Stewart.

In addi­tion to her hus­band and par­ents, she was also pre­ceded in death by one daugh­ter, Janet Case, a devoted daughter-in-law, Kathryn Case and a lov­ing sis­ter, Cora May Hons­berger Diehl.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun­day, Oct. 14, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion. A funeral ser­vice will be held at 10:30 a.m. Mon­day, Oct. 15, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church with Pas­tor Richard Genz­man offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Ceme­tery in Sul­phur Springs.
