BUCKEYES BUZZ: Coach Urban Meyer said Mon­day Ohio State offi­cials have sent a tape to the Big Ten office which appears to show a Michi­gan State player goug­ing at the eyes of Buck­eyes defen­sive line­man Johnathan Hankins.

The short clip from Saturday’s game appears to show the Spar­tans’ Jack Allen or a team­mate try­ing to thrust a gloved hand inside Han­k­ins’ face­mask. At the same time, Han­k­ins is try­ing to get his fin­gers inside Allen’s facemask.

Meyer was asked about the video dur­ing his weekly news conference.

Ohio State sus­pended line­backer Robert Reynolds for one game after it was deter­mined he tried to choke Wis­con­sin quar­ter­back Jim Sorgi at the bot­tom of a pile dur­ing a 17–10 Bad­gers win on Oct. 11, 2003.

HE’S OFF THE TEAM: WR Tyrone Williams, known last year as T.Y. Williams, has been kicked off the team.

Meyer said on Mon­day that Williams’ depar­ture was due to a “vio­la­tion of team rules.”

“I’m dis­ap­pointed with Tyrone’s dis­missal,” Meyer said.

Asked if the 6-foot-6, 229-pound sopho­more from East Cleve­land Shaw HS might be per­mit­ted to return to the team, Meyer said, “He’s done.”

INJURY UPDATE: RB Jor­dan Hall has a par­tial tear of a lig­a­ment in his right knee and is doubt­ful for Saturday’s 8 p.m. game at Ohio Sta­dium against No. 21 Nebraska.

QUOTABLE: Meyer, asked how impor­tant the crowd would be against the Corn­huskers, replied: “(Ohio State AD) Gene Smith will buy them a game ball if we find a way to win this one.”

He then said he was just kidding.
