November Prevention Training
In November, we would like to expand our committees expertise in the field of prevention. In doing so we welcome, Albert Gay to present on the Strategic Prevention Framework. The Strategic Prevention Framework uses a five-step process known to promote youth development, reduce risk-taking behaviors, build assets and resilience, and prevent problem behaviors across the life span. The idea behind SPF is to use the findings from public health research along with evidence-based prevention programs to promote resilience and decrease risk factors in individuals, families and communities. Albert is a Certified Prevention Specialist with extensive experience in the SPF process. He will present a 2 hour workshop on using this process as a way to approach the ongoing issues of opiate use in our community.
The November workshop will be held on Monday, November 12th from 5:30 — 7:30 at the Bucyrus Library. A light dinner will be available beginning at 5:00 with the program beginning promptly at 5:30. Please let us know if you will be able to attend so that we may plan accordingly.
