The Galion Inquirer

1972 Tigers featured this week in Galion Inquirer special football series

A 35-inch story about the 1972 GHS football team — the best squad in school history to not win a league championship — will be featured in Part 5 of the series about the program’s history in Wednesday’s PRINTED edition of the Galion Inquirer.

That team went 6–1 in the NOL and 8–1 overall. Bellevue won the league championship with a 6–0-1 NOL mark. Overtime was not used back then to determine a winner if a game ended in a tie in regulation.
