#1-ranked Mount Union tops Heidelberg; 3 former Tigers play

In a battle between NATIONALLY-RANKED and undefeated Division 3 college teams, #1-ranked Mount Union defeated Heidelberg 33–14 today in Alliance.
Galion’s Alex Nicholls with a BIG game defensively for Mount Union with an interception, 2 broken up passes, and 3 tackles.
His brother Jack is a wide receiver, and also played.
Cartel Brooks — Alex and Jack’s former teammate at Galion High School — rushed for 70 yards on 14 carries for Heidelberg.
Cartel entered the game as the leading rusher AND scorer in the Ohio Athletic Conference, averaging ALMOST twice as many yards per game rushing as the #2-ranked player in the conference.
Mount Union (8–0) had recorded six consecutive shutouts and allowed just 7 points in its first 7 games.
In Division II, the Lee Owens-coached and NATIONALLY-RANKED UNDEFEATED Ashland University Eagles upped their record to 9–0 with a 42–21 smashing of Findlay University.
