William E. Harrison

William Edward Har­ri­son, 82, of Galion, died Wednes­day, Sept. 5, 2012 at Mill Creek Nurs­ing Cen­ter in Galion after a 25 year bat­tle with MS.

Born May 2, 1930 in Galion, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary (Rid­dle­baugh) Har­ri­son. He was pre­ceded in death on Mar. 5, 2008 by his wife, Shirley Ruth (Lank­ford) Har­ri­son whom he mar­ried on May 8, 1948.

He attended Galion High School and was in Naval Reserves. Bill was a life­long mem­ber of the Peace Lutheran Church in Galion and retired in 1990 from the for­mer Kamatsu Dresser after 35 years where he was a welder and sel­dom missed a day of work, dur­ing that time he also drove ambu­lance part time for the Galion Ambu­lance Ser­vice. Bill loved his fam­ily dearly

He is sur­vived by three daugh­ters and sons-in-law, Deb­o­rah and Al Dible of Galion, Kim­berly and David Hast­ings of West Salem and Lynn and Peter Rat­sep of Hamil­ton Square, N.J.; five grand­chil­dren, William Har­ri­son Feasel and Melissa Howe, Holly and Ted Fitch, Jason Hast­ings, Ash­ley Hast­ings, Nicholas Rat­sep; five step grand­chil­dren and their fam­i­lies, Mike, Tim, Tom and Greg Hast­ing and Brian Dible and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ireda and Robert Wright of Galion .

He was pre­ceded in death by two broth­ers, David Har­ri­son and John Har­ri­son and an infant brother, Lloyd Harrison.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sat­ur­day, Sept. 15, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Galion where ser­vices will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sat­ur­day, Sept. 15, with Pas­tor Richard Genz­man offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will be in Bloom­ing Grove Cemetery.
