William E. Harrison
William Edward Harrison, 82, of Galion, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion after a 25 year battle with MS.
Born May 2, 1930 in Galion, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary (Riddlebaugh) Harrison. He was preceded in death on Mar. 5, 2008 by his wife, Shirley Ruth (Lankford) Harrison whom he married on May 8, 1948.
He attended Galion High School and was in Naval Reserves. Bill was a lifelong member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Galion and retired in 1990 from the former Kamatsu Dresser after 35 years where he was a welder and seldom missed a day of work, during that time he also drove ambulance part time for the Galion Ambulance Service. Bill loved his family dearly
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Al Dible of Galion, Kimberly and David Hastings of West Salem and Lynn and Peter Ratsep of Hamilton Square, N.J.; five grandchildren, William Harrison Feasel and Melissa Howe, Holly and Ted Fitch, Jason Hastings, Ashley Hastings, Nicholas Ratsep; five step grandchildren and their families, Mike, Tim, Tom and Greg Hasting and Brian Dible and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ireda and Robert Wright of Galion .
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Harrison and John Harrison and an infant brother, Lloyd Harrison.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Galion where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery.
