Sylvia Sorrick

Sylvia Sor­rick, 91, of Galion died Sun­day, Sept. 2, 2012 at her home after fail­ing health.

She was born May 5, 1921 in Galion she was the daugh­ter of the late Paul and Sarah (Gill) Campo. She was pre­ceded in death on Feb. 24, 2010 by her hus­band of 64 years, Lovern Sor­rick, whom she mar­ried on Oct. 16, 1945.

Sylvia grad­u­ated from Galion High School in 1940 and was a devoted wife, mother, and grand­mother. She was a seam­stress at the for­mer Strat­bury Man­u­fac­tur­ing in Galion.

Sur­viv­ing are one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diana Sor­rick and two daugh­ters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Rick Kent and Rebecca and Chris Pol­s­ley, all of Galion; seven grand­chil­dren, Lau­rie and Ryan Sor­rick, Dustin (Michelle) Kent, Eric (Mandy) Kent, Kristi Kent, Matthew (Lisa) Pol­s­ley and Andrea (Spencer) Ship­man; five great-grandchildren, Cooper, Carly, Colby and Cali Kent and Ally Pol­s­ley; two broth­ers and four sisters-in-law, Robert and Jean Campo of Hum­ble, Texas, Cruse and Ann Campo of Galion, Jan­ice Campo of Swan­ton and Brenda Campo of Fred­er­ick­town; one sis­ter, Lucille Efaw of Galion; one brother-in-law, Henry Say­lor of Galion and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre­ceded in death by an infant daugh­ter, Linda Sor­rick; three broth­ers, Joe, Paul and Mar­shall Campo and three sis­ters, Marie Franco, Pauline Wise­man and Kathryn Saylor.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednes­day, Sept 5, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion, where a funeral ser­vice will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs­day, Sept 6, 2012 with Chap­lain Dan Clouse offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will be in Fairview Ceme­tery in Galion.
