Sylvia Sorrick
Sylvia Sorrick, 91, of Galion died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at her home after failing health.
She was born May 5, 1921 in Galion she was the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah (Gill) Campo. She was preceded in death on Feb. 24, 2010 by her husband of 64 years, Lovern Sorrick, whom she married on Oct. 16, 1945.
Sylvia graduated from Galion High School in 1940 and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a seamstress at the former Stratbury Manufacturing in Galion.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diana Sorrick and two daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Rick Kent and Rebecca and Chris Polsley, all of Galion; seven grandchildren, Laurie and Ryan Sorrick, Dustin (Michelle) Kent, Eric (Mandy) Kent, Kristi Kent, Matthew (Lisa) Polsley and Andrea (Spencer) Shipman; five great-grandchildren, Cooper, Carly, Colby and Cali Kent and Ally Polsley; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Robert and Jean Campo of Humble, Texas, Cruse and Ann Campo of Galion, Janice Campo of Swanton and Brenda Campo of Fredericktown; one sister, Lucille Efaw of Galion; one brother-in-law, Henry Saylor of Galion and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Sorrick; three brothers, Joe, Paul and Marshall Campo and three sisters, Marie Franco, Pauline Wiseman and Kathryn Saylor.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 5, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept 6, 2012 with Chaplain Dan Clouse officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
