Ruth M. MacAdam

Ruth M. MacAdam, 98, of Galion, died Sun­day, Sept. 16, 2012 at Mill Creek Nurs­ing Cen­ter in Galion.

Born Feb. 11, 1914 in Iberia, she was the daugh­ter of the late John and Eliz­a­beth (Cox) Fur­ney. She was pre­ceded in death on Dec. 25, 1996 by her hus­band, John A. MacAdam, whom she mar­ried on Apr. 11, 1936.

Ruth was a grad­u­ate of Iberia High School in 1930 and a mem­ber of First Pres­by­ter­ian Church. She was a home­maker and enjoyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily. She also was a for­mer mem­ber of the Machin­ists Lodge 1181 Auxiliary.

Sur­viv­ing are one son, Wes­ley J. MacAdam of Arling­ton, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Sarah MacAdam of Tonawanda, N.Y.; three grand­chil­dren, Kim­berly MacAdam of N. Tonawanda, N.Y., Rus­sell MacAdam of Coop­ers­burg, Penn. and Andrew MacAdam of Har­rison­burg, Va. and five great-grandchildren, Chris­t­ian, Alanna, Kaitlin, Alli­son and Gabrielle.

In addi­tion to her hus­band and par­ents, Ruth was also pre­ceded in death by one son, Lawrence Dale MacAdam; a still­born daugh­ter, Janet Arlene MacAdam; one brother, Earl Fur­ney and one sis­ter, Edna Burkhart.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sat­ur­day, Sept. 22, 2012 at First Pres­by­ter­ian Church in Galion where a funeral ser­vice will fol­low at 10:30 a.m. Sat­ur­day, with Pas­tor Julie Fogle offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will be in Iberia Ceme­tery next to her husband.
