Nancy Weaver Lyons

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida—Nancy Weaver Lyons, 76, passed away at home on August 23, 2012, sur­rounded by family.

Born in Delaware, Ohio on Sep­tem­ber 14, 1935, she was the sec­ond of four daugh­ters born to Wal­lace Parry Weaver and Har­ri­ett Poole Weaver of Pow­ell and Hyatts, Ohio, respec­tively, both of whom pre­ceded her in death. She is also pre­ceded in death by an infant brother – Richard Allen Weaver, an older sis­ter — Eliz­a­beth Ann Kennedy, an infant grand­daugh­ter, Christina (Christy) Kath­leen Wit­ter and her first hus­band – David F. Witter.

She grad­u­ated from Galion High School in 1953 and mar­ried David F. Wit­ter of Crest­line, Ohio in 1954. She worked on a tran­sis­tor assem­bly line at North Elec­tric Com­pany in Galion. In 1965 the fam­ily moved to Mel­bourne, Florida, where she divorced in 1970. She held sev­eral sec­re­tar­ial posi­tions, includ­ing one at 60-Minute Clean­ers where she met her sec­ond husband.

Sur­vivors include her hus­band of forty-one years, Don­ald E. Lyons, Jr., her chil­dren, Cinda Wit­ter Cas­sity (Sam) of Sara­sota, FL, Linda Sue Wit­ter of Orlando, FL, David Parry Wit­ter (Kelly) of St. Charles, MO, Dou­glas Todd Wit­ter (Hazel) of Ormond Beach, FL and three grand­daugh­ters – Emma, Sophie and Abbey of St. Charles, Mis­souri. She is also sur­vived by three stepchil­dren – Linda Lee, Del and Kathy, a brother-in-law Chris Lyons as well as sev­eral cousins, nephews and nieces.

Memo­r­ial ser­vices will be held at 10:00 am on Fri­day, 9/14/2012, at Com­mu­nity United Methodist Church in Day­tona Beach, Florida. Alavon Direct han­dled cre­ma­tion arrangements.
