Nancy Weaver Lyons
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida—Nancy Weaver Lyons, 76, passed away at home on August 23, 2012, surrounded by family.
Born in Delaware, Ohio on September 14, 1935, she was the second of four daughters born to Wallace Parry Weaver and Harriett Poole Weaver of Powell and Hyatts, Ohio, respectively, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by an infant brother – Richard Allen Weaver, an older sister — Elizabeth Ann Kennedy, an infant granddaughter, Christina (Christy) Kathleen Witter and her first husband – David F. Witter.
She graduated from Galion High School in 1953 and married David F. Witter of Crestline, Ohio in 1954. She worked on a transistor assembly line at North Electric Company in Galion. In 1965 the family moved to Melbourne, Florida, where she divorced in 1970. She held several secretarial positions, including one at 60-Minute Cleaners where she met her second husband.
Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Donald E. Lyons, Jr., her children, Cinda Witter Cassity (Sam) of Sarasota, FL, Linda Sue Witter of Orlando, FL, David Parry Witter (Kelly) of St. Charles, MO, Douglas Todd Witter (Hazel) of Ormond Beach, FL and three granddaughters – Emma, Sophie and Abbey of St. Charles, Missouri. She is also survived by three stepchildren – Linda Lee, Del and Kathy, a brother-in-law Chris Lyons as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, 9/14/2012, at Community United Methodist Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. Alavon Direct handled cremation arrangements.
