GOLF

The linksters recorded their low­est round of the sea­son in a 152–163 win over North Cen­tral Con­fer­ence oppo­nent on Wednes­day at Twin Lakes. In win­ning, the Orange-and-Blue upped their con­fer­ence record to 9–2.

In the vic­tory over the War­riors, Con­nor Camp­bell fired a 37, Eric Pow­ell and Seth Van Dine were one shot back with 38s, and Clay­ton Kendall also turned in a sub-40 39.

Ontario’s Tyler Wil­son blis­tered the course for a 35 to rack up match medal­ist honors.

Galion is back in action today at Eagle Creek for the Nor­walk Invitational.

Tues­day at the Galion Coun­try Club, the Tigers nipped conference-leading Upper San­dusky 165–167, hand­ing the Rams their first NCC loss of the sea­son in eight matches.

Eric Pow­ell and Seth Van Dine both went sub-40 for the locals with 39s. Con­nor Campbell’s 43 and Clay­ton Kendall’s 44 rounded out the scor­ing for the winners.

Upper Sandusky’s Alex Oney wrapped up match medal­ist hon­ors with a 38.

Upper Sandusky’s reserves topped the Galion junior var­sity squad 210–218.

For the junior Tigers, Evan Hug­gins shot a 43, John Pof­fen­baugh, 52; Jeremy Mason, 58; and Karissa Rine­hart, 65.

TENNIS

At Upper San­dusky on Tues­day, the Lady Tigers picked up a 4–1 vic­tory in North Cen­tral Con­fer­ence action.

Pick­ing up the points for the Orange-and-Blue were: Raven Craw­ford, a 6–2, 6–2 win­ner in sec­ond sin­gles; Sierra John­son, a 6–3, 6–4 vic­tor in third sin­gles; the first dou­bles team of Kelsey and Sara Cas­sady via a 6–1, 6–1 ham­mer­ing; as well as the sec­ond dou­bles duo of Don­netta Lester and Kate­lyn Smith on the strength of a 6–1, 6–1 triumph.

Kayla LaFor­est was outscored 6–3, 4–6, 5–7 in first singles.

VOLLEYBALL

A 3–0 white­wash­ing of North Cen­tral Con­fer­ence foe Ontario Thurs­day evening at the high school got the Orange-and-Blue back on the win­ning track, improv­ing their over­all record to 8–4 and con­fer­ence mark to .500 at 3–3.

The match against the Lady War­riors was never in doubt as the locals rolled to wins of 25–15, 25–10 and 25–10 in the three games.

Reanne Neal was the star for the Lady Tigers scor­ing 13 points, blast­ing 10 kills, serv­ing up 4 aces and block­ing a pair of shots.

Car­o­line Del­greco was tops in ball han­dling with 17 assists and also had 8 digs, and Jen­nifer Harsh gar­nered a team-high 12 receptions.

Tues­day, the Lady Tigers were shut out 3–0 at Upper San­dusky by Upper San­dusky in a NCC match-up.

The Lady Rams won games by scores of 25–22, 26–24 and 25–19.

Car­o­line Del­greco was the high scorer (7 points) and leader in assists (16) for Galion.

Other to per­form­ers were: Jen­nifer Harsh with 15 recep­tions and 9 digs; Reanne Neal with 16 kills in 30 attempts; and Tay­lor Valen­tine, two blocked shots.
