Community comes together for Courtney

The plight of Cardington senior Courtney Robinson has brought a community and county together.

The cheerleader underwent brain surgery Wednesday to remove a tumor discovered after she suffered a seizure after Friday night’s football game.

A Facebook post on Thursday morning reported Courtney got through the surgery and was awake at Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have been abuzz with comments, well wishes and updates on Courtney’s condition and situation. Her friends began a movement of wearing her favorite color, purple, and some even shaved their heads. The purple movement spread to Highland, Mount Gilead, Pleasant and Buckeye Valley Schools.

A story on Courtney will appear in next week’s Morrow County Sentinel.
