Brownella tours held Fridays and Sundays
Through Oct. 28, tours of Brownella Cottage are being offered on Fridays and Sundays from 1 — 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and children 5 and under are free.

Missions Conference Sept. 23–26
Galion Alliance Church will be hosting their annual Missions Conference from Sept. 23–26. The missionary speakers this year will be John Schleh, who serves in the Dominican Republic, and Laura Livingston, who serves in Cote d’lvoire. Everyone is welcome to attend. General Patton at the Galion Public Library Sept. 24
The Galion Public Library has had Andrew Carnegie, Tecumseh, and George Washington here at the library in recent past. Ken Hammontree from Living History Productions in Ashland, Ohio is top notch at making great historical figures come to life. Mr. Hammontree is a local historian, lecturer and author. Those that have witnessed the brilliance of his productions have been begging for General Patton.
The Galion Public Library is pleased to announce that General Patton will be visiting the library on Monday, Sept. 24 at 6:30pm.
Through his passion and knowledge, he will portray one of the most complicated military men of all time. During this reenactment, Hammontree will take us back to the winter of 1944 when General Patton and the Third Army moved across Northern France into Germany during the Battle of the Bulge. It’s an evening you won’t want to miss!

Singles dance in Marion on Fridays

Art at the Gill House
Brush and Palette Art Club and Galion Historical Society are pleased to announce the 2012 Oktoberfest Art Show Thursday, Sept. 27, Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29. This year’s show will be held at the Gill House, a historical Galion home on Harding Way West that was purchased by the Historical Society and is presently being renovated. The show hours are 1–9 p.m. daily duirng the Oktoberfest.
Artists from the Brush and Palette Art Club and other invited area artists will have artwork on display and for sale. The Galion Historical Society will offer guided tours on request and for donation. The event is free.
College Fair Sept. 27
MANSFIELD — The Ohio State University at Mansfield and North Central State College will sponsor the annual College Fair on September 27 (Thurs.) from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Campus Recreation Center. Admission is free.
A financial aid session will be held at 7:30 p.m. for students and parents.

Needlework exhibit at Kingwood Sept. 29
Kingwood Center is pleased to announce the first annual Needlework Exhibit to be held on Saturday, September 29 in the Meeting Hall. This exhibit will focus on “works of art” rather than the many “crafty” items that can be produced by cross-stitch, needle point, embroidery, crewel, crochet, knitting, hand-quilting or any other form of needle work.
The projects are being exhibited through the efforts of Kingwood’s staff and volunteers, a group of talented and creative people with a vision of excellence in what they create. The public is invited to view this free exhibit on Saturday, September 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a $5 parking fee at Kingwood Center for those who are not volunteers or members.

Kiwanis Pancake Day Sept. 29
The Kiwanis will hold its Pancake Day Saturday, Sept. 29 from 7 a.m. — 11 a.m. in the Galion Intermediate School. There is parking on the north side of the building. Donation suggestions are adults $5 and children $4 with children under 5 are free.
Tickets are available from any Kiwanis Member. Meal includes pancakes (all you can eat), sausage and beverage. All proceeds go for community projects.
GHS Class fo 1967 to meet
The GHS Class of 1967 will hold its 45th reunion on Sept. 29, at the Ontario Event Center (formerly Brown Derby), with the social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner ($25 per person) at 7 pm. Adoption and Fostercare classes
Adoption and Fostercare classes will be available at Galion Alliance Church starting on September 29th, from 9 am to 4 pm, and continue for six sessions. The Crawford County Young Professionals event Pack the Park has been rescheduled for Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. at Aumiller Park in Bucyrus. Meet by the baseball fields.
Corn Hole Tournament Sept. 29
The Evangelism Team of the united Church of Christ will be holding a Corn Hole Tournament on saturday, Sept. 29 starting at 1 p.m. The tournament will be at the Calvary United Church at 511 Heiser Court, Crestline.
Registration will be at 12 noon with a $20 registration fee per team. Double elimination. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Any two person teams will be welcome.
A variety of sandwiches and munchies, including chicken sandwiches, sloppy Joes, hot dogs, drinks, chips, etc. will be available.
Anyone is welcome to participate or come and join the fun by watching the teams in action.

Friendship Parish Gathering Choir
The Galion Free Methodist Church is hosting the Friendship Parish Gathering Choir Sunday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.
Join the choir for a delightful evening of sing-a-long hymns. The Friendship Parish Gathing Choir is comprised of singers from 12 rural United Methodist churches in the area who get together once a month to worship in a Sunday evening service, as well as special Easter and Chirstmas programs.

29th Annual Colonel William Crawford Fall Festival Oct. 6
The 29th annual Colonel William Crawford Fall Festval will be Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. at the Colonel Crawford High School, 2303 State Route 602, North Robinson.
Included will be a craft show with 100 plus vendors, a farm market, a car show, “Our Gangs” Old Fashioned Kettle cooked Soup, Country Crossroad Cloggers at 11 a.m., babysitting, raffles, delicious food all day, entertainment throughout the day.

5K Walk/Run Benefit Slated for October 6
A 5K Run/Walk fundraiser supporting Hospice of North Central Ohio’s bereavement services is scheduled for Saturday, October 6 at 9:30 in Mansfield’s Downtown Carrousel District. A Great Gallop Fun Run, which is a free run for children, starts at 9 a.m.
Registration begins at the Carrousel at 7:30 a.m. The fee to enter is $20 before September 14 with an event t-shirt, and $25 after September 14. The top two male and female participants, plus the top two male and female runners in each age group will win prizes. Age groups include: 14 and under; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60 and over.

Rainbows of Hope Oct. 9
HomeCare Matters Home Health & Hospice will be starting a new support group, Rainbows of Hope, for parents who have lost a child. The first meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 9 starting at 6 p.m. at the HomeCare Matters office, 133 S. Sandusky Ave. in Bucyrus. This on-going support group will continue to meet the second Tuesday of every month.
